Nigerian weightlifter Chika Amalaha has been stripped of her gold medal after failing her second doping test in Glasgow. The 16 year old, who emerged winner on Friday, July 25, 2014 after she lifted 85kg in the snatch and 111kg in the clean and jerk to claim top spot, failed her first drug test and has now tested positive in the second. A spokeswoman of the Commonwealth Games Federation confirmed the news: ‘It is correct that she has been stripped of the gold medal. World Anti-Doping Agency president Sir Craig Reedie also expressed his shock. ‘I am very disappointed that somebody as young as that appears to have committed an offence at a multi-sport event like the Commonwealth Games’ Further actions  are yet to be announced by the World Anti Doping Agency. ...
